Bio
I'm an elementary school counselor who loves philosophy and such ...

I began life believing all things were good. But, as happens to everyone, that changes with time, maturity and pain.

Evil, though, is simply a canvas on which Goodness can be painted, and the traumas of my childhood now make for a sweet tenderness and compassion in my adulthood. "For when I was a child I thought and acted like a child; but as I became a man I put childish ways behind me. When perfection comes the imperfect disappears."

From hating myself and wanting to die for a more than year of high school I learned to be content. From hating God and all things religious for a several years of college, I learned to seek out true Beauty. From self-loathing I learned self-discipline. From being attacked I learned to protect myself. From attacking myself I learned that nothing outside can really hurt me. From being isolated I learned to want deep and honest friendship. From having nothing else I learned to rely on God. From being scared I learned that courage is the only way to live. From being hurt I learned how to be sensitive to the pains of others. From watching the pain of others and giving myself as much as possible to their care, I learned what it is to be human.

To be complete as a human: resist nothing in yourself, indulge nothing in yourself, want nothing out of your reach and above all . . . learn that contentment in your hand is a much more valuable prize than some elusive "happiness."

"I know in my heart that man is good.
That what is right will always eventually triumph.
And there's purpose and worth to each and every life."
Ronald Reagan

Why am I a libertarian? ... see, when I was born the doctor forgot to stamp "property of the US government" on my butt.
